Single Cask Nation Thornton Rum 4 Year Bottled in Bond is a groundbreaking release for the spring holiday. During the eight days of Passover, traditional grain spirits are strictly forbidden. Finding a complex, aged spirit to enjoy alongside wine and brandy is notoriously difficult. Master Distiller Ari Klafter solves this challenge brilliantly. Drawing on his deep experience crafting premium American rum, he created a spirit that strictly follows dietary guidelines while delivering massive flavor.

To achieve certification from the Orthodox Union, the distillery cannot use traditional ex bourbon barrels. Instead, they age this rum entirely in lightly toasted and charred new American oak casks. Distilled in Illinois from rich brown sugar and molasses, this exceptional four year old rum is bottled in bond at a sturdy fifty percent alcohol. Because they skipped chill filtration, the liquid retains incredible texture and depth. With only two hundred fifty eight bottles produced, this single cask release easily stands out against standard holiday pours.

In the glass, the nose offers a wonderful mix of warm caramel, pecan pie, and cinnamon candies. The palate is bright and lightly funky. It reveals layers of fresh pineapple and unripened mango dusted with baking spice. As it opens, richer notes of creme brulee and peaches in syrup emerge. The tasting experience concludes with a long finish highlighting vanilla ice cream and bright pepper. This dynamic American rum brings the sweet qualities of bourbon and vibrant tropical fruit directly to the Kosher dinner table.
