Bojo do Luar Do Bojo Vinho Tinto is a striking light red wine that redefines the potential of Northern Portugal. Sourced from a single riverside vineyard in the Tras os Montes region, this wine features one hundred percent Bastardo grapes. The vines are between eighty and one hundred years old. They grow deep into pure granite soils at an altitude of over two thousand feet. Because local drinkers preferred heavier wines, the grower sold these rare grapes to the visionary Bojo do Luar team.

The winemaking process takes a deeply traditional, monastic approach. Workers hand harvest the grapes in the cool early morning. In the cellar, the fruit ferments spontaneously with wild native yeasts inside massive, century old clay amphoras. Instead of relying on heavy modern chemicals, the winemaker adds ground chestnut flowers to the grapes. This historic, natural method stabilizes the wine while adding a unique, earthy dimension. The wine macerates for four weeks before resting in the clay vessels until summer. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered with very little sulfur.

In the glass, this vibrant red wine pours a brilliant light ruby. The nose offers vivid aromas of tart red berries, wild herbs, and subtle earthy clay. On the palate, it is incredibly fresh and energetic. Naturally high acidity frames the crisp red fruit flavors, leading to a clean, highly refreshing finish. This natural wine stands out from heavy conventional reds, offering a bright and highly drinkable experience. It is a thrilling choice for natural wine collectors and pairs wonderfully with light, savory meals.
