Alpha Estate Hedgehog Vineyard Xinomavro 2022 is a stunning expression of 100% Xinomavro from northwestern Greece. This single-vineyard wine comes from the "Hedgehog" sub-region, a high-altitude site in the Amyndeon PDO. The vineyard sits at 690 meters with a cool northern exposure, which helps build complexity.

The state-of-the-art, gravity-flow winery handles the grapes gently. The process includes destemming, no crushing, and a cold soak to extract color and aroma. After fermentation, the wine is kept "sur lies" for eight months with regular stirring to build texture. This is followed by 12 months of aging in French oak and another 12 months in the bottle. The wine shows a bright purple-red color. It offers a complex bouquet of small red berries, leather, and spices like vanilla and clove, with a hint of ripe blackberry. The palate is full-bodied with rounded tannins, balanced acidity, and well-integrated wood tones. It finishes with a long, intense quince aroma.
