Planteray Mister Fogg Navy Rum Sail No 1 is an exceptional, one-time limited edition that masterfully recreates historic naval traditions. This spirit is a complex journey in a bottle, beginning as a blend of molasses-based rums from four key origins: Barbados, Trinidad, Guyana, and Jamaica.

Its unique character comes from a multi-stage aging process. The rums, distilled in both pot and column stills, first age in ex-bourbon casks in their tropical home countries. They are then transported by ship to southwest France, a "dynamic aging" that emulates the historic sea voyages of naval rum. Upon arrival in the Cognac region, the rum undergoes a final double aging. It rests in used oak barrels and large, open wooden vats for extensive oxygenation. This final step occurs in humid cellars by the river, replicating the atmospheric conditions of London's historic naval docks.

Bottled at a robust 55.7% ABV, this rum is remarkably smooth and deep. The nose opens with dried fruit, orange peel, chocolate, and vanilla, leading to notes of plum and caramel. The palate is rich with smoked molasses, a ripe fruit finish, and a warm, lingering sweetness.
