Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz 2022 stands as a testament to the mastery of multi-regional blending. Often called "Baby Grange" because it matures in barrels that previously held the winery's flagship vintage, this red blend balances power with structure. Born from the legacy of Max Schubert, it combines the firmness of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness of Shiraz. This creates a wine that is both generous today and built for decades of cellaring.

The 2022 vintage displays a deep garnet core with a crimson rim. On the nose, you will find sweet American oak notes of baking spices, cinnamon scrolls, and vanilla bean. These mix with savory hints of fennel, cured meat, and cracked pepper. The palate is dense and full, offering a seamless mix of black cherries, ripe plums, and red licorice. There is no struggle between the grapes here; instead, they work together to fill the mouth with flavor.

Refined tannins drive the long finish, promising a long life ahead. While it offers immediate pleasure with its creamy mid-palate, patience will be rewarded. This bottle captures the quintessential style of Penfolds, delivering impact, weight, and polish in every glass.
