Benanti Etna Bianco offers a pure taste of Sicily's legendary volcano. Crafted entirely from Carricante, a rare white grape native to the region, this wine highlights the dramatic mountain terroir of Mount Etna. The vines, ranging from twenty to sixty years old, grow on the high-altitude eastern and southern slopes between 700 and 950 meters above sea level. Here, brilliant sunshine, cool breezes, and sandy, mineral-rich volcanic soils create the perfect environment for this unique grape.

During the mid-October harvest, workers carefully pick the grapes by hand to ensure only the best fruit reaches the winery. The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using specific native yeasts discovered by the estate. The wine then rests on its fine lees for several months. This stainless steel aging process preserves the bright, fresh character of the Carricante grape while adding a lovely texture, avoiding the heavy oak flavors found in many other commercial white wines.

In the glass, the wine shows a pale straw yellow color with bright green highlights. The nose is intense yet delicate, offering crisp aromas of green apple. On the palate, it is perfectly dry and remarkably mineral. A savory, mouth-watering acidity gives the wine fantastic energy and a long, lingering finish. This elegant Italian white wine is incredibly refreshing and food-friendly. It is the perfect pairing for fresh seafood, shellfish, and light fish dishes, or simply enjoyed on its own as a crisp afternoon pour.
