Cyril & Elliot Cuche - Blouge Vin de France 2024 750ml

Cyril and Elliot Blouge Vin de France 2024 is a brilliant, unconventional bottle that challenges the traditional boundaries of color and style. The term blouge represents a playful blend of red and white wine styles, giving winemakers complete creative freedom. This specific collaborative cuvee is built on a vibrant base of crisp Cinsault rose. To add color, depth, and a serious vinous character reminiscent of classic Tavel, the winemakers integrated a separate batch of carbonic macerated Cinsault. The entire blend came together in large, circular Italian cement tanks placed outside the winery.

A touch of white Grenache Gris was added to the blend to provide natural acidity and clear minerality. Finally, a small amount of fresh Grenache was added to protect the wine from oxygen and keep it lively through bottling. The result is a beautifully translucent, pale red liquid with a light and silky texture that drinks much like a chilled Poulsard from the Jura. On the nose, it bursts with a fascinating mix of bright red berries, wild flowers, and earthy undertones. The palate is incredibly fresh and lightweight, coming in at less than 12 percent alcohol.
