Maker's Mark No 46 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey represents a bold evolution in American distilling. As the first major new expression from the iconic brand since 1958, this exceptional spirit elevates the classic bourbon experience.
Creator Bill Samuels Jr. envisioned a richer, more complex profile without losing the signature smoothness of the original whiskey. To achieve this, the distillery employs a highly unique finishing method that sets it apart from competing Kentucky bourbons. They take fully matured, cask-strength whiskey and insert ten specially seared French oak staves directly into the barrel. The barrels then rest in a temperature-controlled limestone cellar to finish maturing. This specific stave, known as Profile 46, allows the liquid to develop incredible depth and a bolder, full-bodied character.
The result is a highly celebrated spirit that recently captured the World's Best Finished Bourbon title and a Double Gold medal at the 2026 world spirits competitions. In the glass, it delivers an inviting aroma of toasted French oak, rich caramel, and warm baking spices. The palate is mildly sweet and intensely layered, greeting you with deep vanilla and robust spice. It concludes with a velvety, pleasingly long, and enduring finish.
