Distilled in Charentais copper pot stills at Château de Bonbonnet in Southwestern France, this dry fruit-infused gin builds upon Citadelle's core foundation of 19 progressively infused botanicals. The master distillers infuse a natural red fruit concentrate featuring cranberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackcurrant, and tart rhubarb directly into the wheat neutral spirit. Unlike fruit-flavored gins that rely on artificial colorings, added sugars, or heavy syrups, Citadelle Rouge distills and filters to complete crystal clarity while maintaining a bone-dry, aromatic, and structural gin framework.

A vibrant nose opens with fresh raspberry, juniper pine, and bright citrus peel before expanding into undertones of dark berry skin. On the palate, a crisp, medium-bodied entry balances the natural acidity of red currant and rhubarb against structured juniper pine and delicate baking spice. The finish remains dry, lingering with tart cranberry and blackcurrant skin rather than cloying sweetness. In-house testing at USQ showed its ability to elevate classic cocktail formats: build a fruity Bramble by shaking 2 oz Citadelle Rouge with 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice and 0.5 oz simple syrup over crushed ice, or pour 2 oz over ice with 4 oz fever-tree Indian tonic and garnish with fresh raspberries for a vibrant Gin & Tonic variant.
