Citadelle - Jardin D'Ete Gin 750ml

Distilled in copper pot stills at Château de Bonbonnet in Cognac, this summer-focused expression incorporates whole lemons, orange peel, yuzu, and juicy Charentais melon flesh alongside Citadelle's core base of 19 progressively infused botanicals. The melon flesh is cold-infused into neutral French wheat spirit to retain fragile, aromatic fruit esters before blending. Unlike citrus gins that rely on post-distillation flavor essences or concentrated juices that add residual sugar, Jardin d'Été maintains a dry, crystal-clear profile with a crisp botanical structure supported by estate-harvested French juniper.

The nose leads with vibrant citrus zest, crushed juniper, and the distinct sweet scent of ripe melon. On the palate, a silky, medium-light entry balances the subtle fruit sweetness of Charentais melon against tart yuzu acidity and resinous juniper pine. The finish is clean, bright, and dry, lingering with lemon rind and faint white floral notes. In-house testing at USQ showed its natural affinity for refreshing cocktail builds: shake 2 oz Jardin d'Été with 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice and 0.75 oz simple syrup for a melon-accented Gimlet, or combine 2 oz over ice with 4 oz fever-tree tonic water and a lemon twist for a lifted Gin & Tonic variant.
