Crafted at Hacienda Cazcabel (NOM 1436) in the high-altitude Los Altos region of Jalisco, Cazcabel Tequila Blanco is produced using 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave cooked in traditional brick ovens for 36 hours. Unlike mass-market blancos that rely on continuous column diffusers and post-distillation additives to mask neutral spirit bases, this expression is crushed via roller mill, fermented using a proprietary yeast strain, and double-distilled in copper-lined stills with zero additives. The distillery runs on 95% solar energy, and the family rests its nutrient-dense red clay soils for at least two years post-harvest to preserve agricultural integrity.
Lively, earthy aromas of cooked agave and lemon zest immediately dominate the glass. On the palate, a silky, light-to-medium physical weight carries notes of crisp citrus, white pepper, and a subtle trace of wood-fire smoke that shifts into a dry, mineral finish. In-house testing at USQ showed that its clean, unadulterated agave structure holds its ground exceptionally well against tart citrus; our team recommends shaking a Tommy's Margarita by combining 2 oz Cazcabel Blanco, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz agave nectar with ice, double-strained into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
