Domaine Pierre Usseglio Lirac Rouge 2022 showcases the brilliant depth of the southern Rhone Valley. Crafted by a legendary winemaking family with roots dating back to 1931, this vintage highlights the incredible quality of the Lirac region. The fourth generation of the Usseglio family farms twelve hectares in Roquemaure, where clay soils and smooth pebbles create the perfect growing conditions. This unique terroir delivers a wine with beautiful tension and generous richness, easily standing out against heavier regional competitors.

The production process relies on strict quality control and immense respect for the land. The team hand harvests fruit from vines that average forty years of age. To ensure a smooth and elegant texture, they completely destem the grapes before a long, carefully temperature controlled fermentation lasting up to thirty days. The blend features sixty percent Grenache, supported by Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cinsault. Finally, the wine ages for twelve months in a mix of concrete tanks and large oak barrels, allowing the complex flavors to integrate perfectly without masking the vibrant fruit.

In the glass, this red wine reveals deep aromas of dark spices, black fruits, and sweet licorice. The palate is fresh and incredibly elegant, framed by dense, well structured tannins. Rich notes of dark fruit jam and ripe black cherries carry through to a highly satisfying finish. It is a masterful expression of French winemaking that offers immense value and sophistication for any collector or casual enthusiast.
