The Bollinger La Grande Année Brut 2014 embodies the house's pursuit of a timeless, exceptional vintage champagne. This release showcases the winery's deep commitment to artisanal expertise, centering on vinification entirely in seasoned oak barrels. The 2014 vintage, despite a year of challenging weather, delivered a must with beautiful balance between maturity and acidity.

The blend is a precise composition of 19 crus, combining the intensity of 61% Pinot Noir-sourced mainly from Aÿ and Verzenay-with the freshness of 39% Chardonnay from Chouilly and Oiry. Following fermentation in barrel, the wine ages for more than twice the required appellation time, sealed with a natural cork. The final low dosage of 8 grams per liter maintains its remarkable purity. To the eye, it reveals mature golden glints. The nose is precise, offering layers of cherry, lemon, quince, and bergamot, rounded out by rich hazelnut, almond, and stone fruit. On the palate, a fine, intense effervescence leads to wonderful vinosity and delicate acidity. A very fine texture and a signature sea-air finish bring excellent length, delivering nuanced fruit, citrus, and elegant minerality.
