Rather than boiling delicate aromatics at elevated temperatures, the botanicals-including hand-peeled mandarin, Meyer lemon, white grapefruit, sliced cucumber, and floral petals-undergo low-temperature vacuum distillation independently to capture volatile essential oils intact. These individual components are married with a traditional copper pot distillate containing hand-crushed coriander, black pepper, and subdued juniper. Non-chill filtration preserves the heavier botanical lipids, delivering a modern American dry style calibrated to soften pine resin without leaning on post-distillation sweeteners.
Palate weight is silky and notably oil-rich, leaning away from astringent London Dry profiles in favor of bright, pithy citrus. Sweet mandarin, candied Meyer lemon, and crisp English cucumber lead across the front of the tongue, transitioning into subtle jasmine and rose water on the mid-palate. Ground coriander and gentle cracked peppercorn introduce structural warmth on the finish, concluding clean with lingering orange blossom and soft juniper. In-house testing at USQ showed the spirit's dense essential oils maintain structure against dry tonic or soda.
