Mezcal Negroni

The Mezcal Negroni is a smoky and sophisticated twist on the classic Negroni cocktail. By substituting gin with mezcal, you add a layer of complexity and depth that complements the bitter Campari and sweet vermouth. This recipe uses Dolan Sweet Vermouth, which has a rich and nuanced flavor profile that pairs perfectly with the mezcal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce Mezcal
  • 1 ounce Campari
  • 1 ounce Dolan Sweet Vermouth
  • Orange peel, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Chill: Fill a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Combine: Add the mezcal, Campari, and Dolan Sweet Vermouth to the mixing glass.
  3. Stir: Stir well for about 20-30 seconds until the mixture is thoroughly chilled.
  4. Strain: Strain the cocktail into a chilled rocks glass filled with a large ice cube.
  5. Garnish: Twist an orange peel over the drink to express the oils and then drop it into the glass.

Enjoy!
